"A lucky find was a case of crude glass objects which had been carefully packed by some thrifty housewife, someone who for reasons of her own had not broken them nor sent them without compunction to a charity. Some spoons at first relegated to the kitchen were discovered to be coin silver, remnants of the fad that carried many silver dollars to the smith who beat them into a spoon or token. The metamorphosis was completed by a warming pan which stood by the fireplace with a set of old andirons and a simple fire screen."
