"The galaxies are filled with planets where industrial agriculture has all but taken over for the small farmer, but there are still some worlds where the old ways are preserved. In fact, the planet of Erith 2 is under universal quarantine to prevent modern technology from assisting the inhabitants evolve their systems. This gives scientists the opportunity to study their ways, in the hope of better understanding our own origin. While the primary focus has been agriculture, several graduate students have done papers on their shipping systems, political structures, and their affinity for ingesting and smoking toxic substances. A break in quarantine, and acceptance into the Quadrilateral Alliance, is expected within the next 1000 years of Erith time."
